Activities

The MOMS Club® of Bowie-South offers a variety of activities for their chapter members throughout the month. The monthly calendar may include:

• Business Meetings are held once a month in order to plan future club activities and to discuss any operational concerns. It is another wonderful opportunity for us to gather and to socialize while the children play. Snacks are provided. Currently, meetings are held on the second Monday morning of each month. • Monthly field trips are planned for everyone to experience something new and fun in the DC/Maryland area. Some of our favorite spots are the National Zoo, Old Maryland Farm, and the Chesapeake Children’s Museum.

• Family Events: Although we are a group primarily for stay–at-home moms and their children, we also like to meet the rest of the family. Consequently, club members often host family holiday parties and picnics.  It is a wonderful time for everyone to gather and to meet.

• Playgroups are usually a favorite weekly activity. They are held at members’ homes or local parks when weather is suitable. Bring bikes, balls, or just yourself; we simply like to play.

• Activity Groups: Throughout the month, Moms gather for a variety of activities. Some current groups are the Breakfast Brunch, Lunch Bunch, Walking Club, and Reading Circle.

• Mom's Night Out is a night once a month for us to get for some relaxation and socialization. Examples of our nights out are dinner at a local restaurant, painting pottery at a local art studio, or enjoying some fun competition in a game night at a member’s home.  But, whatever we do, friendship is always included.

• Service Projects: MOMS Club® believes in giving back to our community. Throughout the year, we participate in at least two service projects.

• Meals for Moms: Meals for Moms is a program where members volunteer to prepare and to deliver meals to new mothers within the chapter or members who otherwise need temporary assistance with meal preparation.

• Babysitting Co-op: The babysitting co-op provides you an opportunity to give and to receive quality babysitting services while getting to know other MOMS Club® members.
